Pastorino Pumpkin Farms Tour - IN PERSON in Half Moon Bay
Every farm has a story and Pastorino’s is a good story. Join us on October 5th for a fun-filled time with Scott Pastorino at his family’s farm. Scott (3rd generation) and his family have been growing pumpkins and flowers for years. Scott, a very good story teller, will fill us in with how changes in NAFTA, buyer’s desires and politics have continued to shape the farm. The tour is about 60-90 minutes. Don’t laugh--we can go on the farm train ride. I said it was FUN. Afterwards peruse the gift shop for plants and more.
Bring a lunch and picnic on the property OR stay around Half Moon Bay to support the locals at the restaurants and shops or drive down the coast to Pescadero to Ana Nuevo, Pie Ranch or Harley Goat Farm. Go up to Pacifica or Princeton. What could be better than being near the Ocean? Here's a couple of restaurant recommendations: Ketch Joanne Restaurant or Barbara's Fish Trap
Wear study shoes, dress for the coast.

$10 Bakers Dozen Members Only
Helen Fletcher, who wowed us with Sixty Second Brioche zoom class in May has her latest book, Craving Cookies ready for release.
Bakers Dozen has purchased 30 copies from Omnivore Books in San Francisco and will be giving them away to the first 30 who show up at the Pastorino Farm tour on October 5th. IF you receive a book there is a catch. Helen asks that you bake a cookie from her book and post a review on Amazon ASAP. We think that’s a fair deal. Helen was responsible for 19 new Bakers Dozen members during our “Member Get A Member” membership drive. She declined any compensation except this request.
