David Grossblat will be demonstrating his version of Marlene Sorosky Gray's Regal Pecan Tart. Marlene's tart is not only famous on blog posts everywhere, but also on a smaller scale. After bringing this tart to a Thanksgiving meal many years ago, David's friends and family, after discussing plans for each new Thanksgiving, now always add, "Oh, and you'll bring the Pecan Tart."

A Bit About David
An avid home baker, I joined the Bakers Dozen in 1997 immediately after graduating from the California Culinary Association’s Baking and Pastry Program. Meeting with other bakers to socialize and learn about all things baking has really deepened my skills and broadened my interests. I’ve never forgotten our Angel Food Cake meeting, where we had a stage filled with our cakes, not a single one resembling another, or the discussion on scooping brown sugar – I went right out after that one and bought a scale. As with many bakers, I have a wall of books about baking, some passed from other bakers. (In fact, that’s the story behind today’s demo). I was on the Bakers Dozen Board in 2014-2015, leaving when I moved to Sonoma County where I now grow roses and, soon, my very own peach orchard.
