BRUNCH DOUGH DEMO with Jen Nurse Civic Kitchen
Jen will demonstrate the making of “Brunch Dough”, along with some of its many uses. Brunch Dough is easy to mix and a dream to work with, a superb entry-level recipe for those who harbor a little fear of yeasted breads. It can be filled and formed into beautiful babka, stunning spirals, or the tear-and-share cinnamon buns of your dreams. Just in time for all of the upcoming Spring holidays!

ABOUT JEN NURSE
Jen runs The Civic Kitchen cooking school in San Francisco, along with her eternally good-natured husband Chris. Teaching cooking—and providing space for others to share their knowledge—is her life’s work. Before founding The Civic Kitchen, she led classes for cooks of all ages at Tante Marie’s, 18 Reasons, and elementary and middle schools throughout the Bay Area.
After decades spent as a curious home cook, Jen scuttled her telecommunications career to study pastry arts at the Art Institute of Seattle, then opened an award-winning boutique bakery. After relocating to San Francisco, she worked as a pastry chef and recipe developer before learning the kitchen’s savory side in Tante Marie’s professional program.
A devoted bookworm, Jen has judged cookbooks for the International Association of Culinary Professionals and has written and edited thousands of recipes. The peanut butter cake from The Baker’s Dozen Cookbook was formative in her development as a baker, and she is thrilled to be a member. She looks forward to sharing “Brunch Dough” and its myriad uses with the group.
